Company Profile

Company is a Retail Major; mainly working in Food Chain, also selling other retail product like electronic goods and clothes.

Business Situation

The company needed to integrate various retail store specific applications and documents with its centralized system, complex Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Risk Management systems. As different stores manage their purchase orders and invoices in different ways, they needed to integrate these documents with a centralized system. The company wanted to have a robust solution for greater analysis of stock. As the company was growing very fast, they needed a scalable solution.

Solution

Q3's Enterprise Integration Team suggested the BizTalk Server 2006 for integration of its stores specific applications and documents, as the company was already using many applications based on .NET platform. Integration of purchase order management with Supply Chain Management and Risk Management Application has been done by using different components of BizTalk.

Enterprise Service Bus was created to handle and reuse the services. Q3's team has done speedy Implementation using BizTalk Accelerator for supply chain.

The newly created system collects the PO from different stores, processes it, generates the invoice and sends it back to the store for payment.

Technologies

BizTalk Server 2006 was used for integration of different databases and applications. As the company wanted to build the system based on SOA (Service oriented architecture), Q3 used BizTalk ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) toolkit. ESB plays key role in enabling SOA, it supports loosely coupled and dynamic messaging architecture. By using ESB Q3 was able to reuse the services. ESB provide a managed layer between services and their consumers.

Very rich set of adapters enable BizTalk Server to integrate various systems efficiently. BizTalk does system integration and exchanges messages between different services and systems through its Messaging Engine and the Orchestration Engine.

SQL Server 2005, MS Visual studio 2005 and Windows 2003 Server Enterprise software were part of the implementation.

Customer Speaks

blockquoteDigital Canal Corporation is a software development organization located in the Midwestern US, specifically Iowa, where we have limited technological resources. Q3 has been a very good business partner for our company and I wish I had found Q3 sooner. Q3 Technologies has helped us to transform our business by increasing our product development capabilities such that our clients receive more software products at a faster pace than we were capable of producing ourselves previously. In the world of software, speed, quality and delivering on time are keys to on-going success and I am happy to say that Q3 has helped us achieve this to date. I would recommend Q3 to anyone needing development assistance. An added but important consideration is that the personnel at Q3 are also friendly, helpful and caring making the communication easier than I was told it would be. Q3 has helped our company and I would recommend them to others.blockquote
